Of course you do!
Tickets onsale NOW!
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
After a short absence in the Overworld, we are happy to back to the proverbial garage to crank the generator and—in effect—turn the lights back on.
We’ve got plans on the horizon and are looking to shift things around here a bit in the coming months. But that’s later. We’re in now now, and what better way to live in the now than by telling you about a show near and dear to our hearts happening during CMJ week in NYC this year?
Traveling roadshow SXNE presents For Liberty’s Sake, a very free showcase at Carroll Place featuring some of New England’s best on October 25, 2014 (and sponsored by a decidedly New England beer which I will be drinking too much of: Narragansett).
Want to attend? RSVP here, you fools.
Apart from featuring Lemon Merchant artists emeritus Aloud, the all-night-long party features OldJack, The Nate Leavitt Band, Tigerman WOAH!, The Silks, The Rationales, and Le Roxy Pro. (No word yet on whether or not Joaquin Phoenix will be making another clandestine appearance.)
Give the SXNE page a Like™ on Facebook for updates at the speed of light and fun stuff between now and then. You know how the internet works.
Facebook event page, some videos, and poster’s below the fold. It’s good to be back.

“You Will Know” Limited Edition 7-inch vinyl
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re very happy to announce the release of Aloud’s new single, “You Will Know” backed with the b-side “Such A Long Time”.
“You Will Know” will be available exclusively on limited edition 7-inch vinyl. The single doesn’t hit the streets till Tuesday, September 4 but you can pre-order a copy now in the Aloud store for only $5.99 (plus shipping).
Each sleeve has been hand-numbered, with the first 50 having been painted by the band. This marks Aloud’s first vinyl release.
“You Will Know” was recorded late last year for Berklee PULSE’s BANDED documentary, which followed Aloud and five other bands throughout the process of writing and recording a song.
Both “You Will Know” and its b-side “Such A Long Time” were recorded at Mad Oak Studio in Allston, Mass. by producer Benny Grotto. The single also features Mike Tucker (The Big Big Bucks, Bozmo) on drums, Will Belew on trumpet, and Matt Wan on trombone.
East Coast Tour
In support of “You Will Know”, Aloud is set to tour through the east coast next month. The band will be road testing a glut of newly minted material for their fourth album, expected sometime in 2013.

It’s so comically familiar, it must be the opening line of an old joke: a couple of wide-eyed 19-year-old kids, who believe a bad idea should never stop you, start a rock band. But here we are, a decade and several foolish ideas later, and Boston-area rock n’ roll band Aloud shows no signs of slowing down. Fresh off an appearance at Austin’s SXSW Music Festival, Aloud celebrates 10 years of beating the odds with a performance at venerated Allston venue Great Scott on Thursday, April 26.
Helmed by longtime songwriting partners/co-lead vocalists Henry Beguiristain and Jen de la Osa, the four piece rock n’ roll band is buttressed by bassist/backup dancer Charles Murphy and drummer Justin Emile Shapiro. Launched from a small one-bedroom republic in the Fenway in May of 2002, Aloud has gone on to record three studio albums – with a fourth in the oven – and crisscross the country on several independent tours.
Aloud’s most recent release – the critically acclaimed full length Exile – and the subsequent 17-week U.S. tour behind it were underwritten in large part through a successful campaign on the fan-funding platform Kickstarter.
Limited edition screen print posters designed by Erin Genett will be available at the show. A retrospective short film on the band by director Stephen LoVerme will be released this summer, with a trailer to be released soon.
We are excited to announce that Aloud is returning to the SXSW festival in Austin. The band will be performing at Boston to Austin on Saturday, March 17 at The 512 Bar. “BOS2AUS” is put together by the good folks at DigBoston and sponsored by Converse. Last year’s party was a spectacular success and was mentioned in Time magazine’s 10 Acts That Rocked SXSW.
This year, there will be two stages and features other emerging talent from the Boston area such as OldJack, The Wandas, You Can Be A Wesley, Pretty & Nice, Camden, Bad Rabbits, Moe Pope & the Quills, Aunt Martha, and Lake Street Dive.
Aloud will be touring to and from Austin while debuting new material written by songwriting partners/singers/guitarists Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain. Already confirmed are March 9 at Barley’s in Knoxville and March 21 at the Grape Room in Philadelphia.

Happy new year, friends. We hope your 2012 is off to a fresh start. Up here in Boston we’re suffering through the usual intense chill that happens around this time of year. (8°F this morning without the wind chill, kiddos.) However, at least we haven’t had to shovel an ounce of snow; it’s the little things that count, eh?
But enough of my meteorological banality. There’s business to take care of and news to be dispensed.
We’re very pleased to announce Get on the Bus, a sampler featuring tunes from The Wandas, Aloud, When Particles Collide, and The Bynars. All four bands perform next month at upstart Somerville, Mass. venue Radio on Saturday, February 18. Cover for the 21+ show is only $5.
Get on the Bus may be downloaded here for free, so share it with your friends and invite them to come down to the show!

Back from a stint through the Rust Belt and the East Coast, the gang at Base Camp Aloud is happy to reveal the cover art for the upcoming single “The Cash and the Pearls” (click on the thumbnail to your right to enlarge). The cover was designed by the equal parts lovely and amazing Erin Genett, who’s designed wonderful posters like this one for Aloud in the past.
“The Cash and the Pearls” will be bundled with the b-side “So Long”. The single—produced with bassist/maker of mouth sounds Charles Murphy, mastered by Jeff Lipton, and featuring original Aloud member Ross Lohr on drums—drops on November 1st, 2011 via digital download.
After over two months of touring and a triumphant homecoming show in Boston, Aloud will return to the road this Saturday for the second leg of the Exile national tour. This leg, which includes a stop at SXSW, crosses the country again for another two months.
After releasing Exile, Aloud’s critically-acclaimed new album, the band kicked off their first coast-to-coast tour at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC last October. On the first leg alone, the band headed west through Chicago and Denver, up the coast to Portland and down through Los Angeles and San Diego before touring back east through the Southwest, Texas, and the deep South.
