Back to Austin: SXSW 2012
We are excited to announce that Aloud is returning to the SXSW festival in Austin. The band will be performing at Boston to Austin on Saturday, March 17 at The 512 Bar. “BOS2AUS” is put together by the good folks at DigBoston and sponsored by Converse. Last year’s party was a spectacular success and was mentioned in Time magazine’s 10 Acts That Rocked SXSW.
This year, there will be two stages and features other emerging talent from the Boston area such as OldJack, The Wandas, You Can Be A Wesley, Pretty & Nice, Camden, Bad Rabbits, Moe Pope & the Quills, Aunt Martha, and Lake Street Dive.
Aloud will be touring to and from Austin while debuting new material written by songwriting partners/singers/guitarists Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain. Already confirmed are March 9 at Barley’s in Knoxville and March 21 at the Grape Room in Philadelphia.

Happy new year, friends. We hope your 2012 is off to a fresh start. Up here in Boston we’re suffering through the usual intense chill that happens around this time of year. (8°F this morning without the wind chill, kiddos.) However, at least we haven’t had to shovel an ounce of snow; it’s the little things that count, eh?
But enough of my meteorological banality. There’s business to take care of and news to be dispensed.
We’re very pleased to announce Get on the Bus, a sampler featuring tunes from The Wandas, Aloud, When Particles Collide, and The Bynars. All four bands perform next month at upstart Somerville, Mass. venue Radio on Saturday, February 18. Cover for the 21+ show is only $5.

Aloud celebrates the release of “The Cash and the Pearls” with November residency in Boston
Back from a stint through the Rust Belt and the East Coast, the gang at Base Camp Aloud is happy to reveal the cover art for the upcoming single “The Cash and the Pearls” (click on the thumbnail to your right to enlarge). The cover was designed by the equal parts lovely and amazing Erin Genett, who’s designed wonderful posters like this one for Aloud in the past.
“The Cash and the Pearls” will be bundled with the b-side “So Long”. The single—produced with bassist/maker of mouth sounds Charles Murphy, mastered by Jeff Lipton, and featuring original Aloud member Ross Lohr on drums—drops on November 1st, 2011 via digital download.
Aloud’s “Exile” US tour resumes Saturday
After over two months of touring and a triumphant homecoming show in Boston, Aloud will return to the road this Saturday for the second leg of the Exile national tour. This leg, which includes a stop at SXSW, crosses the country again for another two months.
After releasing Exile, Aloud’s critically-acclaimed new album, the band kicked off their first coast-to-coast tour at the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC last October. On the first leg alone, the band headed west through Chicago and Denver, up the coast to Portland and down through Los Angeles and San Diego before touring back east through the Southwest, Texas, and the deep South.
